about

Stryk9’s debut album is largely built upon material written by lead vocalist Abhay Singh for his earlier projects, including songs originally recorded by First Amendment and Dirty Clergy. Keyboardist Andrew Parke has here gathered and reinterpreted some of the most promising selections from those acts, offering embellished arrangements and fresh recordings. Two new songs, "Night Angel" and “The Red Moon,” have also been included in this collection. Imagined as an amalgamation of darkwave, synthpop, and progressive rock, Dark Hearts aims to offer a novel yet nostalgic listening experience. Though some of its tracks were penned as early as 2005, the album as a cohesive work–divided into three movements–was only fully realized in 2012.
